Today, am going to share one of my mom’s most special recipe, Instant Sambar powder. It’s her own creation. You just have to mix in water, add vegetables, boil and temper and a delicious sambar is ready to serve. Just imagine how convenient it will be to make yummy sambar within few minutes.
Trust me when I say that it will be one of the most handy spice mix in your kitchen:)
Coriander seeds ( dhania) – 1 cup
Red chillies – 1 cup
Tuvar dal ( pigeon peas) – 1 cup
Chana dal ( Bengal gram/ kadala paruppu)- 1/2 cup
Pepper – 2 tbsps
Fenugreek ( methi/ vendhayam ) – 2 tbsps
Tamarind – 3/4th cup
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 1/4th cup
Dry roast everything except turmeric powder separately till you get a good aroma. Cool and grind along with turmeric to a powder.
Store it in an airtight container.
