Today, I made Rava ladoo. It’s a very traditional sweet made during Diwali in South India. It’s also one my most favourite traditional sweet 🙂
Rava ( semolina/ suji) – 1 kg
Sugar – 1 kg
Melted ghee – 1+1/2 cup
Chopped Cashew nuts – 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
Roast the rava till you get a good aroma.
Cool and grind it to a fine powder.
Grind the sugar. Roast the cashew nuts till it turns golden in 4 tbsps of ghee.
In a big mixing bowl, add the powdered rava, sugar, roasted cashew nuts and cardamom powder. Add hot ghee little at a time and mix well.
Take a small portion of the mix, press tight, roll and make into a smooth ball ( ladoo).
Similarly make ladoo with the rest of the rava mix and store in an air tight container:)
